They aspired, in short, to the American Dream.

In 2025, that dream has been undercut by lies—lies that make enemies out of neighbors, promise quick fixes to complex problems, and manufacture crises that make us less safe.

We believe by building a reality-based community focused on empowering individuals with the tools they need to navigate our collapsing information environment, we can do our part to preserve our democratic infrastructure, and keep it rooted in truth.
