Statement from CEO Nina Jankowicz on the House Judiciary Committee Hearing on 5/1/2024
Jankowicz Tells Jordan: I’m Ready. Release My Transcript
(Washington, D.C.) – American Sunlight Project (ASP) CEO Nina Jankowicz released the following statement in response to Congressman Jim Jordan’s so-called censorship hearing:
“Today’s hearing convened by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government underscored the ongoing deception of the American people by Chairman Jim Jordan and his Republican colleagues.
“When we started ASP, the first thing we did was send a letter to Chairman Jordan demanding he release the full transcripts of all the disinformation researchers he has interrogated and intimidated, instead of selectively leaking them. Of course, we got no response—but today we got our answer.
“Jordan again initially refused a request during the hearing today from Congressman Lynch to release the transcripts—censoring information during a hearing about so-called censorship—but then relented, hiding behind process he did not follow for other Committee witnesses whose transcripts were selectively published.
“When you release the full transcripts, the truth will be revealed. They will show the consequences of your investigations—that researchers have suffered threats to their lives because of your intimidation, echoed today by Rep. Davidson suggesting individuals your committee has smeared should be thrown in jail.
“They will show that you lied—and continue to lie—about my tenure at DHS and the tireless work other disinformation experts are doing to protect our democracy while you continue to act as Putin’s useful idiot.”
I’m ready, Chairman Jordan. Release my transcript.
